Complex guy friend situation. Please, any advice would be appreciated!?

ok this guy sound a lot like me (not the biual part) so what he is saying or what i think he is saying is that he likes you but dose not want to lose you maybe because there was some one that he liked and went out with and broke up with and it was never the same so he lost that friend ship and he dose not what that to happen to you and him now i think you should take a month or so and not talk to him or say any thing to him even if he is bugging you to and that will give him time to see if he wants to go out with you or if he just wants to be a friend but that part of him saying "I dont want you but i don't want any guy to have you" is a sign of a possessive person so what i think is you should just avoid him
