How to drive a car uphill so that on moving after a stop it doesnt slip backwards?
it sounds like you are driving a manual transmission or you probably wouldnt be having this problem. really, it just takes some getting used to. youre a new driver, you cant expect to pick up on everything right away. but it sounds like you at least know what you need to do. learn the position at which the clutch engages the engine. then, just hold you foot at that point so when you apply the gas, you start moving right away without having to find where the clutch engages. for steep hills, the handbrake method works well. just keep in on until you feel the car want to move. you dont need to give it a ton of gas, just keep a light foot and apply slightly mroe than normal gas and you should be fine. its just about practice though!
