Is a 2 Kicker 12" Comps a big upgrade from 2 JBL 8" GTOs?

I will be using the same amp. A Alpine MRP-M450. The JBLs have a higher RMS but are 8". The kickers are bigger but have a lower RMS. Im looking for whats louder like SPL but I still want them to sound good so SQ has to be there too. Are the Kickers better?
