Samsung D900 Screen saver mode..?

When the phone is in Keys Locked position, is there a way to have the screen illuminated with the time displayed?? On occasion, I've looked at my phone and some how this is displayed, but have no idea how I done it! I checked the manual, but cant find anything to instruct how to activate this setting...?
