Should I take guitar lessons and will they pay off and help me to learn the type of music I want to learn?

I want to take them so that I can learn how to play clic rock songs like smoke on the water and paint it black but also songs by newer bands like the arctic monkeys and the foo fighters I can already play most basic chords which I play on acoustic guitar but I recently bought a electric and an amp of my friend and I want to learn tab and stuff also I will probably have to get a Saturday job to pay for lessons as I'm 14 and my parents won't pay I will probably be having 1 lesson a week how long will it take until I can play the songs I want to play and for me to get good persay thanks :)
