Visas for Dubai Stopover?

I am flying from JFK to CCU. Got a GREAT deal $1400 during peak season - love it. HOWEVER, i got a question. Since i am going to have a 12 hour layover (arr dubai at 8am and dep 3am next morning) Emirates are giving me a hotel (Millenium Hotel). Are they going to pay for the transit visa too!!? also, has anyone done a transit with Emirates with this hotel? Any feedback on the experience?
